About The Competition

The Young Entrepreneur Program (YEP), hosted by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Shasta College and College of the Siskiyous, is a new program designed to help young people between the ages of 14 and 27 realize and attain their business goals.  Through entrepreneurship education and one-on-one counseling, YEP helps young people build skills, unlock creativity, and discover pathways to opportunities in small and large businesses.  Participants will learn real world business practices such as leadership development, team building, financial management, communication, and business etiquette.

The SBDC is kicking off the Young Entrepreneur Program with a Business Concepts and Video Elevator Pitch Competition.  This is an opportunity for our young people to showcase their creativity and innovative ideas while entering to win up to $1,000 in scholarships.  Contestants must be 14 to 27 years of age and be legal residents of Shasta, Trinity, or Siskiyou Counties in California.  Click on Get Started for more details.

The competition is divided into three phases:

Phase I:  Get Started – Requirements & Qualifications
