Get Started (Entry Requirements)

These are the requirements that determine whether an entry can be accepted.

1. All contestants must be at least 14 but not older than 27 years of age by April 15, 2010. Contestants under the age of 18 must have written parental permission to enter the contest.

2. Legal residents of Shasta, Siskiyou or Trinity Counties are eligible to compete in this competition. All contestants are required to prove residency.

3. All entries must be registered by February 19, 2010, to participate.

4. All business concept questions must be submitted by March 5, 2010, to be eligible to participate in the video elevator pitch competition.

5. If invited, upload a 60-90 second elevator pitch to the Business Concept & Elevator Pitch Competition group YouTube site by March 26, 2010.

6. April 6, 2010, finalists notified. Participants must be physically present to compete in the final presentation held April 15, 2010 at the Shasta College Theatre in Redding. Each presentation is to be 3 to 5 minutes in length.

7. Each entrant must grant SBDC the right to use and display contestants pictures and ideas for SBDC marketing purposes.

8. Limit one entry per participant.

9. By registering you are opting in to receive all YEP Business Fair and Competition information.

10. Contestants cannot enter or copy an existing business. In addition individual/team’s business concept plan must represent their original work. Individual/team members must sign a certification to this effect.
